Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!!

I'm having a supercalifragilisticexpialidocious time at PV! Hey awesome viewers, I'm Charmagne and this is my story and life at PV! Ready for a little ride? Okay, lezgooooo~

I started as high school student, almost graduating and still not knowing what to do when all my classmates do. I, well, had a lot of options. Nurse, doctor, lawyer, pediatrician.. I think I named quiet a few high professions and nah uh - none of these describes and speak "Charmagne". The same year I graduated high school in Hong Kong, I celebrated my big 18th party in the Philippines. Imagine a huge wedding without a groom. That big. So we made sure we hired the best photographer we know in town! And knowing that, we had expectations. To make the long story short, my pictures were yellow and flat plus they didn't gave me a copy of my photo shoot! That's when it hit me. People pay big money for these special celebrations and get that kind of service and pictures that make them look sick. With my interest in photography, I wanted to learn it professionally and offer an even better service and awesome pictures in the future when I start!

That's when I entered PrairieView School of Photography on my first year here in Winnipeg. How is it so far? SUPERCALIFRAGILISTICEXPIALIDOCIOUS! I came in with a big head, thinking it was going to be easy peasy because of my 1 year in college where photography was part of the course. But nah uh, yes, nah uh - it's more than just clicking the shutter! PV opened my eyes to the world of photographic to a much higher level. We were taught of different techniques and creative aspects plus the different worlds of photography - headshots, product, landscape etc..Sometimes it's hard to catch up because of all the information we're getting. But because we want this and considered photography our life, we get the hang of it! One of the things I appreciated a lot was how we're told that PV is the right place to fall because we have our awesome teachers to pick us up. At the same time, I learn from my classmates too. It's like, we're one big family. We help each other and believe me, almost 24/7!

So far, we're on the part where we're building up our portfolio. It's that time of the year again, almost graduating. And this time, I know what I want to do! Photography. Now, that sounds so much better and that speaks me! I am going to major in portraits. Family and engagements. I want to do a lot of kids photography as well. I love kids! I believe that kids are God's precious gifts. Time flies fast and they won't stay as kids forever. Like how I'm slowly growing up into a woman, my parents would love a lot more pictures of me when I was still a little kid especially that I am an only child.

5 years from now, I see myself running my own business in the photography world. ButterflyCharms - portraits, weddings, kids. You never know, maybe more in the category! Our school president, Craig, once asked us "What is the most important thing to do after graduation? You have 10 seconds, go!" And right away I wrote "KEEP IMPROVING" He agreed. Just because I'm graduating soon with my diploma in professional photography, doesn't mean I'm all that, an expert or know everything that there is to know. The list goes on, it never stops, keep improving and I definitely will! Part of my photographic journey is to capture nature as well. It's more of a self assignment for the rest of my life. I'm a Christian Baptist and through photography, I want to honour my God. By taking pictures of things He made and hopefully, through my pictures, they'll see Him and his marvelous works for us.

Oh and there's one more thing. Because of PV I fell in love with film! My favourite film camera gotta be Holga! Here are some shots I took. Light leaks? I actually love them! <3

Get up and study at PV and you'll understand how I said I'm having a supercalifragilisticexpialidocious time!

Signing off,

Charmagne the PinkButterfly :P
